Marc Quinn.
23 June-30 Sept 2006. This is the first time an Italian state museum has dedicated a monographic exhibition to the British artist Marc Quinn. It presents 30 works created in past years from The Complete Marbles sculptures to the more recent cycle entitled Chemical Life Support. The exhibition also shows paintings and drawings. Quinn, who was born in London in 1964, first attracted international attention in 1991 when he presented a work entitled Self, a self-portrait of his head created with five litres of his frozen blood, to maintain in his words the integrity of the sculpture.
