The famous Argentine pianist Martha Argerich performs with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra at S. Cecilia on Monday 15 September.
The concert by Argerich, who is considered one of the greatest pianists of the second half of the 20th century, takes place at Rome's Auditorium Parco della Musica at 21.00.
The orchestra will be conducted by Riccardo Castro, and Argerich will play the Piano Concerto no. 1 by Tchaikovsky, followed by a tribute to the Villa-Lobos with the Bachianas Brasileira n. 4, and closing with the dance symphonies from Bernstein's West Side Story.
Argerich will return to S. Cecilia in April with a concert conducted by Yuri Temirkanov.
