Mary Beard at American University of Rome
The communication and English department of the American University of Rome presents Roman laughter and why we laugh, a lecture with Mary Beard, Britain’s most celebrated classicist, on Thursday 16 October at 19.00.
In her lecture Beard will examine what made ancient Romans laugh and whether we can ever "get" their jokes. Beard received an honourary degree from the AUR in May.
