Mediterranean film festival
Some 200 films from 40 countries are on show in Rome for the 12th edition of the MedFilm Festival, 5-19 November. The theme for this years festival is identity and work, and among the highlights are a selection of recent Algerian films as well as a number of premieres, including that of Iberia by the Spanish director Carlos Saura. Four venues are taking part: the Auditorium della Conciliazione, Cinema Trevi, Museo di Roma in Trastevere and the Casa dellArchitettura. Entrance is free to events at the Cinema Trevi (normal-length films), the Museo di Roma in Trastevere (shorts and documentaries) and the Casa dellArchitettura (seminars). Tickets for the main films, shown at the Auditorium della Conciliazione, cost 2.50 each, or 10 for a weekly pass. The complete programme can be seen at www.medfilmfestival.org.
