The "Recycling Day" at the Mercatino del Borghetto Flaminio, just behind the Ministero della Marina, reopens on Sunday 13 January, from 10.00-19.00.
The well-known flea market takes place every Sunday in January (13, 20, 27) and includes a wide array of books, ornaments, toys, perfume, furnishings, kitchenware, prints, vintage jewellery, clothes and accessories.
Among the 200 stands in the four pavillons, visitors can find everything from unwanted Christmas gifts to kitsch to exotic souvenirs: from Kenyan sarongs to silk Balinese scarves; from New York exhibition posters to Scottish kilts.
The brainchild of collectors Enrico Quinto and Paolo Tinarelli, the bazaar has been running for 18 years and attracts a regular stream of Romans and tourists including collectors as well as familiar faces from the world of theatre and the arts.
Tickets cost €1.60.
