Heavy metal legends Metallica will perform in Rome on 1 July 2014 at Rock in Roma, with tickets going on sale on 5 December 2013.

It is the only Italian date on the Californian band's upcoming European tour, and comes five years after their last concert in Rome.
 
A novelty this time around will see fans being able to vote for the concert setlist on the Metallica website by choosing among the 140 songs from the group's more-than 30-year career. The setlist will include 17 of the fans' favourite Metallica songs while the band will also select a brand new song to perform on the night.

Tickets will be on sale in the following ways: Fan club pre-sale: from 10.00 on Thursday 5 December until 09:59 on Friday 6 December via Met Club and on general sale from 10.00 on Friday 6 December via Live Nation, Ticket One and Rock in Roma.
