2-28 Sept 2003. A delightful festival in its second year in Rome, held in the wake of the increasingly successful trend to marry circus, theatre and dance. The Italian Compagnia Anomalie presents Bascule, by Vincenti Gomez and Christian Lucas, with a burlesque view on the similarities between the circus and everyday life, fiction and reality (23-24 Sept). Baiser les Anges et tenter le diable is the title of the work presented by Compagnia Carpe Diem from an original idea by Marie-Anne Michel, who is also the protagonist on stage; it is a daring performance in which dance, acrobatics, song and music merge, sometimes violently.
