The Russian pianist, conductor and composer returns to the piano after a while spent conducting to play two Beethoven sonatas (including The Tempest) and Scriabin's prelude 24. In 2007 Pletnev recorded all nine Beethoven symphonies with the Russian National Orchestra for Deutsche Grammophon.
