Mojito
There are numerous variations of this famous Cuban cocktail whose refreshing taste is perfect for the summer heat.
Traditionally the drink comprises five ingredients: white rum, sugar (traditionally sugar cane juice), lime juice, soda/sparkling water, and mint.
Ingredients
1½ limes, cut into wedges
15-20 fresh mint leaves
2½ tea spoons of granulated sugar
A handful of ice 65ml of white rum
Soda/sparkling water
Fresh mint sprig
Preparation
1. Put the limes, mint and sugar into a sturdy glass tumbler and crush with the end of a rolling pin, to soften the mint leaves and release the lime juice.
2. Add the ice and pour over the rum.
3. Add soda/sparkling water to taste, stir well and garnish with the mint sprig.
