9-12 May. Myung-Whun Chung conducts Beethoven's second symphony and Mahler's La Vita Celestiale with the S. Cecilia Orchestra and soprano Sophie Karthauser. Beethoven's confident and strictly classical stucture contrasts with the more dreamlike and reflective meditation by Mahler.
