8 Dec-6 Jan 2012. The Auditorium's annual Christmas Fair is back with its usual range of activities and offerings. For almost a month the outside space around Rome's auditorium is transformed into a kind of a Nordic village, with many activities especially geared for children, including an old-fashioned merry-go-round, food and chocolate stalls, Father Christmas's house where children can post their letters to Santa and pose for a photograph, the popular open-air ice-skating rink, and a rather exclusive Christmas Fair with an interesting and sophisticated range of crafts for sale. All this makes up the backdrop for an intense programme of cultural events inside that include concerts, drama, a Gospel and Spiritual music festival (20-31 Dec) with musicians and singers from all over the world. Children are especially catered for within the auditorium as well with a series of concerts and story-telling events and workshops in which they are invited to participate.
