Nigel Kennedy & The Polish Chamber Orchestra.
19 April 2005. Many credit Nigel Kennedy with the re-branding of classical music in the 1980s, turning it from a dusty relic for aficionados into a chic soundtrack for middle-class dinner parties. His recording of Vivaldi's Four Seasons has sold more than 3 million worldwide making it the top-selling classical record of all time. Kennedy recorded a second album devoted to the music of baroque legend Antonio Vivaldi, with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, which is imaginatively titled Vivaldi II, and includes the Italian composers concerto for two violins. The violinist is currently on tour with the Polish Chamber Orchestra, for which he is also artistic director, which will see him criss-cross Europe with his own form of rebellious performance of classical music works to his many fans.
