Nordic Film Festival
16-19 April. The fourth edition of Rome’s Nordic Film Fest takes place as usual at the Casa del Cinema and this year it features 14 films, screened under the theme Noir/Crime.
The festival is designed to promote the film industry and culture of the Nordic countries, and includes Italian premieres, documentaries and short films, in addition to encounters with actors and directors.
This year there are three films from Denmark, three from Finland, two from Iceland, three from Norway, and three from Sweden.
The event is organised with the film institutes of the participating countries, in collaboration with Rome's Nordic embassies and the capital's Circolo Scandinavo, which presents a visual filmmaking/video art installation.
The festival is being held in conjunction with the Casa del Cinema exhibition Ingrid Bergman 100 anni dopo while on 19 April there will also be a tribute paid to another Swedish actress who died recently, Anita Ekberg, with a presentation by Sweden's ambassador Ruth Jacoby.
The films will be screened in their original language and entry is free to the festival which operates on a first-come first-served basis.
