Notes de la Nuit
Balletto del Teatro dell'Opera in Notes de la Nuit, choreography by Jerome Robbins, Francesco Nappa, Micha van Hoecke, with guest artists Eleonora Abbagnato and Alessio Carbone. In his 1970 study of three couples, in Notes de la Nuit, set to Chopin’s nocturnes, Robbins brings ballet into the ballroom. Within a pulsing crowd, the couples suddenly find themselves alone and give life to a series of melodramas and moods.
The piece by the young Neapolitan choreographer and visual artist Francesco Nappa is entitled Quartet and it is set to music by Steve Reich and Philip Glass. Finally, Teatro dell’Opera ballet director, the choreographer Micha van Hoecke has chosen Luis Bacalov’s Argentinean music for his new Aria Tango. Teatro dell’Opera, Piazza B.
