Notti Romane al Teatro di Marcello.
4 June-30 Sept 2007. This long-running music festival takes place in the archaeological site of the Teatro di Marcello, the theatre built by Emperor Augustus in order to honour the memory of his favourite nephew, Marcellus. The programme, which includes recitals and concerts as well as Greek and Latin poetry, features Italian and foreign artists. Amongst them the Japanese pianist Hiroshi Takasu, who plays the traditional mid-summer concert. In case of rain concerts take place in the nearby Basilica of S. Nicola in Carcere.
