19-23 April 2004. Fifteen recent Austrian films have been selected to represent new Austrian film-making: the festival highlights the work of a new generation of film directors, many of them women, whose aim is certainly not limited to entertainment. The festival is organised by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Rome and takes place at the Cinema Nuovo Olimpia, Via in Lucina 16, tel. 066861068. All films have Italian subtitles.

Scooby-doo 2. The good news is the script for "Scooby-Doo 2" is marginally better and the eternally irritating Scrappy-Doo is nowhere to be seen. On the other hand, the rapidly ageing cast is clearly in it for the cash, with not a single one fully committed to the task. The amateur sleuths of Mystery Inc. have grown up so much, in fact, that theyre now superstars in Coolsville, the town theyve been saving from ghosts and gremlins since 1969, if you go back to their Saturday-morning origins. This time their work is as stale as a week-old Scooby snack.
