Madrid's Teatro Real on the Plaza de Oriente is the home of the Madrid Symphony Orchestra and Choir as well as invited soloists, conductors and visiting opera companies from around Europe. Its co-productions during the 2004-2005 season include: Verdi's Macbeth; Hans Werner Henze's L'Upupa und der Triumph der Sohnesliebe; Manuel Fernndez Caballero's El do de la africana; Rossini's The Barber of Seville; Verdi's La Traviata; Verdi's Don Carlo; and Mozart's Die Zauberflte. Further productions include: Toms Bretn's Los Dolares based on a theatrical work by Feli and Codina, and productions of Donizetti's Rita, Massenet's Cloptre, Wagner's Lohengrin, and Carnicer's Elena e Constantino, the Munich Bayerische Staatsoper's production of Strauss' Die Frau ohne Schatten from 1992.
During December 2004 the main productions are L'Upupa und der Triumph der Sohnesliebe with the Salzburg Festival and the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and Massenet's Cloptre.
