Oscar Wilde in Rome
Rome's oldest Irish pub The Fiddler's Elbow is hosting two "Wilde Nights" in honour of the celebrated Irish wit Oscar Wilde.
At 18.30 on 16 October, on the occasion of Wilde's birthday, the pub screens the movie "Oscar Wilde" followed by birthday cake and music by Micky Martin.
Then on 19 October, also at 18.30, the Fiddler's Elbow presents an evening entitled The Importance of Being Wilde featuring an introduction from Enrico Terrinoni of the University of Perugia, as well as a number of readings from the writer's best-known works, by Italians and Irish residents of Rome.
