Paris Photography Month 2004.
29 Oct-29 Nov 2004. This year, Paris Photography Month 2004 is entitled History and Stories: from documentary to fiction. The exhibition centres on three periods: 1839-1914, 1910-1960s and from the 1960s to the present day. It also has three threads on the same theme: history, which draws up a kind of chronological list of the history of photography; stories, which explores familiar or lesser-known regions and reveals new perspectives; and from documentary to fiction, which introduces a contemporary and interpretative vision, through poetry and fiction. This year, some major museums open their doors to photography: the Louvre, Pompidou Centre, Jeu de Paume, Zadkine Museum, joining two other cities, Berlin and Vienna, to become the European Photography Month. Discover pictures by the famous photographer Robert Capa at the Bibliothque Nationale de France, an exhibition on Self-portraiture in France, 1850-1914 in the Maison de Victor Hugo or a Retrospective dedicated to Man Ray, held at the Fnac des Ternes.
