Picasso photos at Rome's Palazzo Merulana
Picasso e le fotografia. Gli anni della maturità. Le fotografie di Edward Quinn e André Villers, 1951-1973.
Palazzo Merulana, Rome's newest art museum, presents a photographic exhibition offering what it describes as "unprecedented life story of the artist and man Pablo Picasso", from 28 June until 26 August.
The exhibition comprises over 90 photographs by André Villers and Edward Quinn who, in addition to being celebrated photographers, became friends and confidants of Picasso - an honour bestowed on very few people throughout the artist's long life.
The images on display, from the collection owned by the fund of the Luxembourg collector Guy Ludovissy, provide a glimpse into Picasso at work in his studio and with his family, capturing both his public and private persona.
For exhibition details see Palazzo Merulana website.
