The first book presentation takes place at the Museo di Roma Palazzo Braschi at 11.00 on 30 April. This event is strictly by invitation which can be downloaded from the publisher’s website, printed and shown at the museum. The book will be presented by Mons. Ciarán O'Carroll, the rector of the Pontifical Irish College, with Prof. John McCourt of Università Roma Tre, and introduced by Damien Kelly, first secretary at the embassy of Ireland to Italy.
The second presentation will be at the Non-Catholic cemetery at Piramide Cestia on 14 May at 10.00. There is free entry to this event which will include a guided tour of the cemetery's Irish tombs.
The book offers, for the first time, a comprehensive account of the bimillenial history of the Irish presence in Rome. Published in English and Italian, with foreward by Fr Micheál MacCraith of St Isidore's College, the book contains more than 100 images illustrating key figures and sites of Irish interest in Rome.
