Puccini Festival
Torre del Lago Festival. This is the only festival dedicated exclusively to the works of Puccini. It takes place on the outskirts of Viareggio in an open-air theatre on the shore of Lake Massacciucolo, in the grounds of the villa where the great Italian composer lived and is buried.
The four operas to celebrate the festival’s 60th anniversary this year are La Boheme (24 July, 2,10,15, 22 Aug), Madame Butterfly (25 July, 1, 8, 16, 24 August), Turandot 9, 14, 17, 23, 29 Aug) and Il Trittico (3, 7, 21, 30 Aug).
