German Ladies Tennis Tournament

Held at the LTTC "Rot-Weiss", the QATAR TOTAL German Open promises one of the finest ever line-ups at the "Hundekehle". The tournament features six of the top seven players on the WTA Tour, following 23 year-old Elena Dementievas last minute registration. The seeding at the $1.3 million tournament is led by reigning champion Amelie Mauresmo (France/No. 2), followed by Maria Sharapova (Russia/No. 3), Serena Williams (USA/No. 4) and the three Russian girls Elena Dementieva (No. 5), Anastasia Myskina (No. 6) and Svetlana Kuznetsova (No. 7). The two Belgian stars and former world number ones, Justine Henin-Hardenne, champion in Berlin 2002 and 2003, and Kim Clijsters are also present. Both had to take lengthy breaks due to injuries and in the coming weeks celebrate their return to the WTA Tour. Tickets cost between _7.50 (students) and _290 (corporate).
