18 June-24 July 2005. This year the theme of the sophisticated festival directed by Cristina Mazzavillani, wife of conductor Riccardo Muti, is The desert grows A journey between symbolism and utopia. The rich programme certainly lives up to its presentation with an awe-inspiring line-up of opera, drama, dance and music, in which many of the works are old although their interpreters find inspiration in contemporary experimentation.
