4 July. In Creation for 11 dancers. This company was founded over 15 years ago by the French-Kabyle choreographer Mourad Merzouki, the man credited with giving artistic dignity to hip-hop. It showcases the fantastic hip-hoppers from the French banlisux and a fabulous crew of dancers recruited in Brazilian favelas. These performers who starred in Merzouki’s hit creations Correria and Agwa now feature in Kafig Brasil, created in Rio de Janeiro in conjunction with other choreographers, who contributed pieces of 15 minutes each, leaving the last one to the improvisation of the dancers.
