Rent rowing boats on Villa Borghese lake
Rome's Villa Borghese park contains a small artificial lake, known as the laghetto, where visitors can go boating.
The service is available every day, from 09.30 until dusk, although the opening hours can vary depending on the weather. The cost is €3 for adults, for 20 minutes, while the fee for young children is €1.50.
The picturesque lake has a 19th-century temple and is home to about 100 turtles, 60 ducks and dozens of other water birds including swans and geese.
The laghetto, which featured in the Woody Allen movie To Rome With Love, was closed for six months in late 2013 for restoration after water was discovered seeping into surrounding areas. It reopened in spring 2014.
