Richard Long: Avon Tiber
20 Feb-16 May. Richard Long is among a generation of British land artists who wanted to extend the possibilities of sculpture beyond the confines of traditional materials. He grew up near the River Avon in Bristol and has been using the mud from its tidal banks since the 1970s. This exhibition includes large panels and works on paper created using the mud from the Avon's tidal banks, as well as sculpture of basalt stone from the Italian Alps.
