Marymount - International School Rome

14 June-6 Sept. Rock in Roma is a major summer-long event dedicated to rock music, taking place from 14 June to 6 September.

Since it began in 2009, the event has hosted over one million fans and some of the world's biggest-name rock bands.

This year the line-up includes rock as well as other genres of music, and kicks off on 14 June with British indie-pop act ALT J on 14 June, followed by Slipknot (16 June), Slash (23 June), and Mumford & Sons (30 June).

The festival continues into July with reggae star Damien Marley (1 July), The Chemical Brothers (2 July), J-AX (4 July), Robbie Williams (7 July), Stromae (8 July), Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds (9 July), Verdana (14 July), Muse (18 July), Subsonica (20 July), Litfiba (24 July), Caparezza (25 July), Lenny Kravitz (27 July), and Fabi, Silvestri, Gazzè (30 July).

There is a break for much of August, with two concerts at the end of the month: Australian psychedelic rock band Tame Impala (26 August), and Italian rock group Negrita (30 August), before the festival ends with Californian rockers Linkin Park on 6 September.

The Chemical Brothers

The action normally happens on three different-sized stages throughout the Rock in Roma racecourse site near Ciampino, and there are shuttle buses for fans from Termini station. For full details see Rock in Roma website.
