Romaeuropa
The multidisciplinary Romaeuropa arts festival returns with an action-packed programme of dance, theatre, art and music, under the title Linfa vitale (Lifeblood).
The 29th edition of the prestigious two-month festival comprises over 50 events over 118 days of performances, and includes 20 Italian premieres – a significant overall increase on last year's numbers.
Romaeuropa director Fabrizio Grifasi has kept a strong international focus, with many big names on the programme.
Highlights include the national premiere of Torobaka by Romaeuropa regulars Akram Khan and Israel Galvan (24-26 Sept); Sun by Hofesh Schechter (30 Sept-1 Oct); Coup fatal by Alain Platel (14-15 Oct); and Carmen by South African Dada Masilo (29 Oct-2 Nov).
Also to look forward to is the fifth edition of the festival's futuristic section Digital Life whose theme this year is Play.
