Rome Chamber Music festival
13-17 June. This chamber music festival for young talented musicians returns to Palazzo Barberini (Salone da Pietro Cortona) with its artistic director and founder Robert McDuffie.
It is now held in conjunction with De Simone and Partners Young Artist programme which was founded 10 years ago, and musicians who have participated in the project over the past decade have been invited to perform in Rome this year.
The programme features Copeland's Appalachian Spring, Tchaikovsky's Souvenir de Florence and Mendelssohn's Octet, composed when Mendelssohn was only 16.
Rehearsals from 11-15 June are open to the public. The concerts on 16 and 17 June are open to the pubblic and tickets will be available on the festival website. www.romechamberfestival.org
