Festival returns to October slot
The ninth edition of the Rome Film Festival takes place from 16-25 October this year, reverting to its original October slot from November, where it has been for the last two seasons.
Marco Müller, the festival's artistic director for the last three years, announced the titles of the first five English-language films at the 2014 festival: Time Out of Mind by Oren Moverman, Trash by Stephen Daldry, Love, Rosie by Christian Ditter, Black and White by Mike Binder, and Stonehearst Asylum by Brad Anderson.
The programme section Cinema d’Oggi (Cinema Today) will present the European premiere of Time Out of Mind (starring Richard Gere and Jena Malone.
The Gala section will present the International Premiere of Trash (starring Rooney Mara and Martin Sheen); the international premiere of Love, Rosie (starring Lily Collins and Sam Claflin) and the European premiere of Black and White (starring Kevin Costner and Gillian Jacobs), presented in collaboration with the independent sidebar Alice nella Città.
Finally, the European premiere of Stonehearst Asylum (starring Kate Beckinsale, Jim Sturgess, Ben Kingsley, Michael Caine and Brendan Gleeson) will be presented in the Mondo Genere (Genre World) section.
