Rome poetry and prose workshop with Moira Egan
A workshop in poetry and prose at St Stephen's Cultural Center, Rome.
St Stephen’s creative writing teacher and award-winning poet Moira Egan is holding a four-week poetry and prose course, entitled Writing the Senses, from 18.00-20.00 on four Thursdays: 31 January, 1 February, 7 February, 14 February.
"We will read examples of evocative work from contemporary and classic masters; we will have in-class writing experiences with the senses that are less commonly used in writing: smell, taste, touch, sound. We will discuss your newly generated poems and prose in a workshop setting. You will come out of the class with a small portfolio of imagistic, descriptive work and some fresh ideas to keep you writing. Get back in touch with your “inner” poet or prose writer!"
Moira Egan is an American poet who lives in Rome. Her most recent collections are Olfactorium (Italic Pequod, 2018) and Synæsthesium (winner of The New Criterion Poetry Prize, 2017). Her poems, prose, and translations have been published in journals and anthologies on four continents. She has been teaching for more than two decades and has been delighted, over the years, to see her students publishing poems, articles, stories, and books.
