Rome's Mediterranean Portus Project
26-27 Jan. This two-day conference entitled Rome's Mediterranean Portus Project (RoMP) appraises recent archaeological fieldwork undertaken around the Mediterranean as part of the wider Portulismen: Rome’s Mediterranean Ports Project.
The event presents research relating to the capacities of 30 selected ports, and their inter-connections, shedding light on their role in promoting the cohesion of the Roman Mediterranean during the imperial era.
Papers include ongoing research in Italy, Turkey, Tunisia and Spain.
