The Flemish choreographer has revived what is universally considered a major work and a milestone in the evolution of contemporary dance. Rosas danst Rosas was choreographed in 1983, the year the Rosas company was founded. Four women dance to the rasping and pulsating rhythms composed by Thierry De Mey, and it is both minimalist and excessive. Its stage score in four parts is punctuated by gestures from everyday life, its rhythm agitated in keeping with De Keersmaker
