Concerto di natale per la città by Accademia di S. Cecilia follows sudden cancellation of Jonas Kaufmann concert.

22 Dec. Sir Antonio Pappano leads the orchestra and choir of the Accademia di S. Cecilia in a free Christmas concert for the city on Friday 22 December at 20.30 in the Sala S. Cecilia at Rome's Auditorium Parco della Musica.

The concert, which is free until seats are no longer available, follows the unexpected cancellation by Kaufmann, who had been scheduled to sing lieder by Richard Strauss and part of Der Rosenkavalier, on the same night.

The Concerto di Natale will comprise Mozart's Haffner Symphony, pieces from Händel's Messiah, Till Eulenspiegel by Richard Strauss, and concluding with the finale of Carmen by Bizet.
