SanBa, a public art project designed to regenerate the north-east Rome suburb of S. Basilio, comes to an end on Saturday 28 February when the murals of Rome street artist Hitnes are presented to locals and cultural associations.

The internationally acclaimed artist has spent the last two months transforming six façades of buildings in the area, as well as holding workshops with the neighbourhood's residents and school children.

The day of festivities begins at 14.30 with a walk around the district, allowing guests to enjoy the results of Hitnes' work. At 16.00 a special place will be set aside for children who will be equipped with brushes, spray cans and drawing paper to test their creativity and imagination.

Afterwards there will be presentations and live music by djs and Trastevere act Funkalisto, at the green space between Via Corinaldo and Via Arcevia.

Also during the festival, the designs of local children will be superimposed on the façades of buildings.

The successful SanBa initiative began in 2014 when street art movement WALLS commissioned Roman artist Augustino Iacurci and Spain's Liqen to enlivened the run-down area with a series of giant, vibrant murals.
