Scatti di Memoria: Rwanda 1994-2014
The Museo di Roma in Trastevere commemorates the 20th anniversary of the genocide that devastated Rwanda in 1994.
The photographic exhibition is a reminder of the 100-day mass slaughter of nearly a million Tutsi and moderate Hutus by members of the ruling Hutu majority.
The exhibition is the result of collaboration between Umubyeyi Mwiza Ngo – the Rome-based humanitarion organisation working in Rwanda and other African countries – and Rome artist Angelo Savarese.
Organisers say the exhibition serves as a reminder of Rwanda's recent dramatic past and a source of reflection on its future including reconciliation.
