Scottish market in Florence
Florence's third annual Scottish market will take place in Piazza S. Maria Novella from 2-10 December from 10.30 to 19.30 each day. Tinned haggis, tweed jackets, tartan scarves, shortbread, jams and golf accessories will be among the items on sale brought to the Tuscan capital by various Scottish companies. The market follows on the heels of St Andrew's Day, the national Scottish holiday, on 30 November. In addition to the market, the Single Malt Club will hold six whisky tastings at the Grand Hotel Minerva in the square on 3 December, 8 December and 9 December at 16.00 and 18.00 each day. Places are limited to 12 per tasting, which lasts 30 minutes. Tickets cost 5 and reservations can be made by emailing www.smc.firenze@libero.it.
