Sense and Sensibility at Rome's national modern art gallery
Rome exhibition Ragione e Sentimento is dedicated to 19th-century art.
20 March-30 June. The Galleria Nazionale della Arte Moderna (GNAM) presents Ragione e Sentimento, an exhibition of paintings by 19th-century Italian and foreign artists.
Its title, the Italian version of Jane Austen's novel Sense and Sensibility, is designed to "reawaken important imagery that traverses history, literature and art", according to the gallery's director Cristiana Collu.
The exhibition includes works by Antonio Allegretti, Giacomo Balla, Vanessa Beecroft, Giovanni Dupré, Frederic Leighton, Antonietta Raphaël Mafai, Giacomo Grosso amd Cesare Tallone.
