Yuri Temirkanov conducts S. Cecilia orchestra and choir with music by Rimsky-Korsakov and Mussorgsky. Rimsky-Korsakov’s symphonic poem Sheherazade is based on a series of episodes from the Arabian Nights. It is considered his most popular work and was premiered at St Petersburg in 1888, with Rimsky-Korsakov conducting.
