Sheila McKinnon: Invisible Light
15-23 Feb. Canadian born photographer Sheila McKinnon’s stages an exhibition at Italy's Camera dei Deputati, or Chamber of Deputies, in Rome from 15-23 February. The show features the signature work of McKinnon who for the past two decades has portrayed women and girls across Asia, Africa and India living in complicated situations of cultural entrenchment and generational mores still dominant in their societies.
McKinnon juxtaposes these works with a selection of recent images - some colourful, some stark - showing the encroaching threats of climate change, a hidden consequence of which is the reduced priority for rights to education for women and girls. Open Mon-Fri 10.00-18.00.
