28 May-12 June. The annual strawberry festival takes place in the town of Nemi in the Castelli Romani, just south of Rome, from 28 May until 12 June. The main event, involving the distribution of free strawberries, takes place at 18.00 on Sunday 5 June.
The 83rd edition of the popular Sagra delle fragole is enlivened with numerous parallel events, including live music, walking tours, flower shows, exhibitions and kids’ events.
However, strawberries remain at the heart of the festival which has attracted record numbers of visitors in recent years.
