Ta Main Dans La Mienne (Your Hand in Mine).
26 Jan-12 Feb 2005. Peter Brooks latest theatrical piece is based on the love letters of Anton Chekhov and Olga Knipper. Theirs was a love story that saw them frequently separated; he was often absent to be cured for his illnesses and she was frequently in St Petersburg and Moscow as she was an actress working with the great theatrical master Stanislavskij. Despite these prolonged absences their love flourished. Their relationship is reconstructed here using 400 letters that cover a six year period that take as a background the life of the theatre which they both loved. The letters cover the period up until the playwrights death. The adaptation of the letters offers a glimpse at their relationship combining both humour and sadness. In French with English subtitles.
