Terrorism
7 April- 29 May 2005. Terrorism is a profoundly necessary play, written by the Presnyakov brothers from Siberia one year before the September 11 attacks and first performed in the Moscow Art Theatre just a week after a group of Chechens occupied the nearby Dubrovka Theatre, with horrific results. Using brilliant and at times grotesque irony, the play shows how absurd everyday life can become when gripped by the tyranny of fear. Indeed, the focus is as much psychological as political, showing how violence is so intrinsic to humanity that it can penetrate any and every relationship, from business to family to love. Admission: 19 (14.50 concessions)
