6 Nov 2004. The 9th Long Shopping Night takes place in Berlin on Sat 6 Novr 2004 with its special midnight opening hour for shops. The Long Shopping Night traditionally takes place as summertime turns to wintertime and vice versa. The shopping centres and stores taking part include the Europa-Center, Stilwerk Berlin, NIKETOWN Berlin, Neues Kranzler Eck, Berlin, Peek & Cloppenburg, Hugendubel, KaDeWe, Douglas, Mexx, the Erotikmuseum, C&A, Zoologischer Garten and Aquarium, and many more. Altogether about 500 shops, department stores, restaurants, bars and cinemas are keeping their doors open for shoppers in the kick-off to the Christmas season. The long shopping night in the German capital takes place twice a year, in spring and in autumn, as the clocks change, with Berliners and visitors to the city able to enjoy shopping and entertainment until midnight.
