Hotel Modern is a group founded inRotterdam in 1996 by the actresses Pauline Kalker and Arlne Hoornweg and by visual artist and performer Herman Helle. It mixes theatre and puppets with music and video as well as using a wide variety of objects, texts, sounds and actions. In this work, the three artists, recorded by micro cameras, allow the story to unfold under the eyes of the public. The micro scenes on stage come to life with different means and instruments, from nails to moss, from a plant spray simulating rain to spray cans enacting explosions.
