Agatha Christie's classic mystery murder play The Mousetrap opened in London's west End in 1952 and has been running continuously ever since, becoming the longest-running show of any kind in the modern era.
The action takes place at Monkswell Manor, a London guest house, where a number of guests become snowed in together and read of a murder in the newspaper. When one of the party is murdered, suspicion turns on each of the surviving guests as well as the hosts.
According to tradition, the audience is requested not to reveal the surprise ending on leaving the theatre. Director Stefano Messina describes the play as "a perfect blend of suspense, thriller and comedy." In Italian.
