The Schweppes Photographic Portrait Prize 2004

The Schweppes Photographic Portrait Prize is in its second year and this years event has been won by German photographer Jens Lucking for his photograph Tokyo, a portrait of three Japanese school-girls. The 15,000 award was presented at the National Portrait Gallery, London, on 15 November.
The Schweppes Prize is specifically designed to discover new talent in the world of portrait photography. The 2004 Portrait Prize received entries from 2,661 photographers, twice as many as the previous year. A short list of 61 portraits has been selected by judges from the 7,906 images.
Last year the Schweppes Prize was won by Roben Antoniewicz for his portrait of his grand-daughter Mairead.
