11-17 Oct 2004. Be surprised! reads the theme of the 15th edition of la Semaine du Got (The Week of Taste). And it looks really promising. Originality, imagination and creativity are on the menu during this special week, which is gaining in popularity each year all over France. In Paris, a range of events are organized, starting on 9 and 10 October in the Trocadero Gardens (from 10.00 to 18.30, entrance free). All gourmets are invited to this launch event in the Around Taste tent to taste and cook in the presence of young and established chefs from around the country. A huge breakfast is planned each morning and all day long there is a culinary show to make the mouth water. Throughout the week, around 50 of the capitals restaurants will be offering special menus called Dishes and Wines at good prices. Surprise desserts await. And we advise you to buy your groceries at the open markets where the so-called crazies of the market set up their stalls, including chefs who take time to meet the public and let them in on some of their tricks. For instance, Place Monge on 15 Oct or in Bastille on 17 Oct - surprise and treat your family and friends.
