As part of the 12th edition of the FotoGrafia Festival Internazionale di Roma, Sala 1 presents Timeless Islands, the first solo show in Italy by Paris-based artist Thomas Jorion. The photographs in the exhibition capture places completely devoid of human activity, many of them abandoned due to changed economic and socio-political circumstances, and all in remote destinations in Europe, Russia, Japan and the US. However, for all their desolation, these lost landscapes and buildings are enlivened by Jorion's clever use of colour, light and dizzying perspective.
